- Patty is that you? Where have you been hiding? ARRGH! Its been one of those weeks where I'm happy I'm not a big drinker or I would be three sheets to the yoohoo right now with all of the commotion that's occured that the Casa De La Portia! First, Zachary ran into a chain link fence at school during a game of gym class flag football and got quite the lump on his melon. He had to go to the hospital to get an MRI (translation: MY this is not REALLY INEXPENSIVE :)) Doctor Ken Jawasaki (Asian: Probably Chinese, Cantonese, or Mandarin) sent him home with a prescription for tylenol and an order to stay off his feet, which is more like an order for me to stay ON my feet! More Fruit Roll Ups you say, Zachary? If that's what makes your head feel better!
- Then Hubby Rick came down with a touch of ringworm he picked up from somebody at work! Where in the world do you even get ringworm any more! Beats me, but I do know you can get the ointment for $23.60 a tube at Walgreens! Thanks so much to Barry Logan behind the elevated Pharmacy counter for your medical knowledge!! How many Pharmacists does it take to cure ringworm? Just one: Mr. Barry Logan!
- So that explains why I've been away from the type-writer (computer) for a while! How did you ever manage without me? I'm JK!!! (That's means just kidding sayeth tech savvy Zachary!)
-You may have noticed the new look on the weBLOG!! There's a picture of Yours Truly, Zachary (on the left!!!!), and Zachary's cousin Nick, which we took on the front porch last summer when Nick came to visit from Spokane! rick's sister Rhett and her husband Allan live out there, and we'd sure love to have Ryan back soon!
-Board games have abounded at the house lately, with Zachary and Hubby Rick laid up, which led me to make a couple of observations I'll share with you: now:
-The fellow from Operation was being operated on with his eyes open! Maybe someone oughta play anesthesiologist first! (Paging Dr. Jawasaki!)
-In Guess Who! if you happen to draw an Afro-American fellow or a lady, it's very hard to win the game!
-The name of the band is Fine Young Cannibals, and two of those three words sure do describe the band! I just hope they're not cannibals!
-It is not the critic who counts, not the one who criticizes the other or the one who says where the good guy wasn't any good! The credit goes to the one who does his best, whos face is tired and pale from trying, who fails and then gets up and fails again. That way, he never ends up not knowing if he couldn't have made it to the top or not- Teddy Roosevelt! That was from Brenda's mug, which I saw this morning!
-Racoons are nature's cat burglars!
-See you soon and often!
Hugs and Love,
Patty La. P.
